Logo
The official Academy logo consists of the icon and the wordmark.
These elements must only be used in the approved relationships, placements and sizes.

All use of Academy marks, logos, photography and other creative assets must be approved by our teams. Please email academycreative@oscars.org for approvals or additional requests.
“OSCAR®,” “OSCARS®,” “ACADEMY AWARD®,” “ACADEMY AWARDS®,” “OSCAR NIGHT®,” “A.M.P.A.S.®” and the Award of Merit statuette, commonly known as the “Oscar,” are registered trademarks and service marks of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. These marks and other institutional marks such as the Academy logo, and the Oscars® logos, may only be used under express written license from the Academy, or as permitted by the Academy’s legal regulations: https://www.oscars.org/legal/regulations. Overview
Our mark features a subtle ombre effect that,
like the lights of a film set or theater, fades from light to dark.
Logo
Our mark is a triangular shape, similar to the ‘A’ of the Academy.
The base of the Oscar aligns with that of the triangle.
Wordmark
The full name of our organization, the Academy of Motion Picture
Arts and Sciences, is used in our wordmark. The wordmark can be
adapted into two presentations.
Logo Clearspace
It is important that the logo is given ample clearspace from the
margins and other elements to ensure clarity. The minimum
clearspace is equal to the vertical height of the Academy logo.
Wordmark Clearspace
Scalability
Our logo was designed and tested to work at various sizes
across digital and physical mediums. The minimum logo size
for adequate legibility is 30px high.
Logo Color
Our logo can only be used with Academy white, gold and black.
If applying the logo over imagery, ensure there is high contrast
between image and the logo for legibility.
Logo Misuse
It is important that the appearance of the logo remains consistent.
It should not be reinterpreted, modified or embellished. No attempt
should be made to alter the logo in any way. Below are some use
cases to avoid.
Logo Placement
The logo should always be placed in one of the locations outlined
below, regardless of communication size or composition. These
placements maintain consistency, while offering enough flexibility
to accommodate a variety of layouts.
Profile Icon
To turn the logo into an icon, center it within the appropriate shape
for each platform or format.
Oscars Statuette
The Oscars brand exists as an extension of the Academy.
The Oscars statuette is represented in two different ways,
depending on context. When it appears individually, its
base is taller and has a rounded platform. As part
of the triangle logo, its base is wider and flat.
Academy Trademark
Wherever the Academy logo appears, the legal line "©A.M.P.A.S.®" must also appear. When images of the Oscar statuette appear, the legal line "Oscar statuette ©A.M.P.A.S.®" must also appear.
All use of Academy marks, logos, photography and other creative assets must be approved by our teams. Please email academycreative@oscars.org for approvals or additional requests.
